The full cast for Liberation on Broadway has been named, with all eight principal cast members returning from the Off-Broadway world premiere of Bess Wohl's play with Roundabout Theatre Company earlier this year. Broadway performances begin at the James Earl Jones Theatre on October 8 ahead of an October 28 opening.

The Liberation Broadway cast includes Betsy Aidem as Margie, Audrey Corsa as Dora, Kayla Davion as Joanne, Susannah Flood as Lizzie, Kristolyn Lloyd as Celeste, Irene Sofia Lucio as Isidora, Charlie Thurston as Bill, and Adina Verson as Susan. Collectively, the group won Drama Desk and New York Drama Critic’s Circle Awards for Best Ensemble Performance in 2025.

Understudies are LeeAnne Hutchison, Matthew Russell, and Kedren Spencer.

“This cast is pure magic. I am absolutely over the moon that audiences will get to experience their chemistry, their bravery, and their sheer joy as they work together as an ensemble,” Wohl said in a statement. “This is acting at its finest – bold, hilarious, and deeply felt. I’m so grateful to them for making my words sing and shine.”

“It is only this cast, this group of beloved New York performers and incredible actors who could debut this work on Broadway,” said director Whitney White in a statement. “They connect to the play and each other in such an unforgettable way. Their chemistry is electric and you may not know them yet, but they are the stars of tomorrow. Come see them. This is a cast and generational story not to be missed.”

Winner of the Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding New Broadway Play, Liberation takes place across two time periods: the 1970s, when a woman named Lizzie starts a feminist club that brings an unlikely group of suburban Ohio women together to make change; and the 2020s, when Lizzie's daughter looks to the past for answers on how her mother's life changed so dramatically and where their efforts for change went wrong.

The creative team includes set designer David Zinn, costume designer Qween Jean, lighting designer Cha See, and sound designer Palmer Hefferan, hair and wig designer Nikiya Mathis, intimacy director Kelsey Rainwater, and vocal and dialect coach Gigi Buffington.
