Roundabout to revive She Loves Me on Broadway

The Roundabout Theatre Company have announced a new production for their 50th anniversary year, a revival of the classic musical comedy She Loves Me, starring Laura Benanti as Amalia and Josh Radnor as Georg.

The production is expected to run on Broadway for a limited season in Spring 2016.

The musical will return to Broadway for the first time since it launched the Roundabout's musical theatre initiative over 20 years ago. Featuring a book by Tony Award winner Joe Masteroff and music by Tony Award winner Jerry Bock and lyrics by Pulitzer Prize and Tony winner Sheldon Harnick, the production will be directed by six-time Tony Award nominee Scott Ellis.

She Loves Me follows Georg and Amalia, two parfumerie clerks who aren't quite the best of friends. Constantly bumping heads while on the job, the sparring co-workers can't seem to find common ground. But little do they know, the anonymous romantic pen pals they have both been falling for happen to be each other! Will love continue to blossom once their identities are finally revealed?

Laura Benanti took home a Tony Award for her performance in 'Gypsy' alongside Patti LuPone. Her other Broadway credits include the 2002 revival of 'Into the Woods' and the original company of 'Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown'. Her TV credits include 'Nashville', 'The Sound of Music LIVE!', 'The Big C' and 'Elementary'.

Josh Radnor made his Broadway debut in 'The Graduate'. He is best known for his screen role on 'How I Met Your Mother'. Other screen credits include 'Afternoon Delight', 'ER', 'Six Feet Under', 'Law & Order' and 'The Court'.

She Loves Me originally premiered on Broadway in 1963 where it was directed by Harold Prince. It was revived in 1993, directed by Scott Ellis for the Roundabout Theatre Company, and went on to transfer to London's West End in a production that included Ruthie Henshall. The score features songs such as "Will He Like Me?", "Vanilla Ice Cream" and "She Loves Me".

Further cast and creative, as well as a confirmed venue and dates for the production are yet to be announced.
