Roundabout Theatre Company announce that Peter Friedman will assume the role of Juror #10 in their Broadway premiere production of Reginald Rose's Twelve Angry Men after Dan Hedaya withdraws from the production. Directed by Scott Ellis at the American Airlines Theatre, Twelve Angry Men opens 28 Oct 2004, following previews from 1 Oct 2004. This is a limited engagement through 19 Dec 2004. Dan Hedaya had to withdraw from the company of Twelve Angry Men due to personal reasons. Peter Friedman (Juror #10) originated the role of Tatehin in the musical 'Ragtime' at its world premiere in Toronto, as well as on Broadway. He was in the original New York productions of 'The Heidi Chronicles' by Wendy Wasserstein and Simon Gray's 'The Common Pursuit', 'A Soldier's Play' by Charles Fuller, C.P. Taylor's ...'and a Nightingale Sang' and 'Execution of Justice' by Emily Mann. He also appeared in New York in 'My Old Lady' by Israel Horovitz, 'The Tenth Man' by Paddy Chayefsky, Donald Margulies 'The Loman Family Picnic' and 'On a Clear Day You Can See Forever' for Encores! at City Center. The remaining cast will consist of Tom Aldredge (Juror 9), Mark Blum (Juror 1), Philip Bosco (Juror 3), Larry Bryggman (Juror 11), Robert Clohessy (Juror 6), Boyd Gaines (Juror 8), Kevin Geer (Juror 2), Michael Mastro (Juror 5), John Pankow (Juror 7), James Rebhorn (Juror 4), Adam Trese (Jurur 12) It is directed by Scott Ellis , designed by Alan Moyer, lighting by Paul Palazzo, costumes by Michael Krass. A young delinquent awaits sentencing for the manslaughter of his aggressive father. One juror feels that there is a reasonable doubt- to the frustration of his eleven colleagues - thus preventing a quick verdict. During the heated deliberations, the hidden preconceptions and assumptions of the jurors are revealed. When faced with playing the hangman, each juror is forced to face himself.
