Olivia Holt to make Broadway debut in 'Chicago'
The actress and singer, known for performing in TV shows like Cruel Summer and Cloak and Dagger, will play Roxie Hart for a limited time beginning in April.
The name on everybody's lips is gonna be... Olivia! Olivia Holt will make her Broadway debut in Chicago this spring, playing a limited engagement at the Ambassador Theatre from April 10 to June 4.
Holt will star as Roxie Hart, a housewife-turned-murderess who battles fellow inmate Velma Kelly, a veteran vaudevillian, for the attention of the press in the hopes of getting acquitted — and getting famous.
The current production of John Kander, Fred Ebb, and Bob Fosse's 1975 musical has played the Ambassador Theatre since 1996, making it Broadway's longest-running revival.
The current cast includes Charlotte d’Amboise as Roxie Hart, Lana Gordon as Velma Kelly, James T. Lane as Billy Flynn, Jinkx Monsoon as Matron “Mama” Morton, Evan Harrington as Amos Hart and R. Lowe as Mary Sunshine.
As previously announced, Monsoon will perform through March 26, and Bianca Marroquín will join as Velma from March 13 to April 9.
Who is Olivia Holt?
Holt is a singer and actress who got her start as part of the Disney XD series Kickin' It. She has since played Kate Wallis in the Freeform series Cruel Summer and Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger. She is next set to star in the horror comedy movie Totally Killer alongside Kiernan Shipka.
