No Child... to end its off-Broadway run on 3 Jun

No Child..., the one-woman show written and performed by Nilaja Sun and directed by Hal Brooks, will end its successful off-Broadway run at the Barrow Street Theater on 3 Jun 2007. The show opened at the Barrow Street Theater on 16 Jul 2006, following previews from the 8 Jul 2006.

No Child... originally opened Off-Broadway at Theatre Row's Beckett Theatre on 29 Apr 2006, where it ran through to 18 Jun 2006.

No Child... is a look into the New York City Public Education system by Nilaja Sun, who transforms into the teachers, students, parents, administrators, janitors, and security guards who inhabit our public schools every day and are shaping the future of America.

Nilaja Sun says, "I created this piece to be a snapshot from the trenches, something entertaining and provocative that'll get people talking about the state of our public schools in a new way."

Epic Theatre Center commissioned the development of No Child... as a result of Nilaja Sun's unique work in one New York City's toughest schools, Martin Luther King, Jr. High School, where Epic maintains an extensive arts-ed residency.

No Child..., performed by Ms. Sun and directed by Hal Brooks, will play major engagements in cities across America, including Boston, Chicago and Washington, DC, with additional bookings on the West Coast scheduled throughout the 2007-2008 season.
