Newsical the Musical: Susan Mosher to join cast

Susan Mosher and Carly Sakolove join the cast of the off-Broadway musical revue, Newsical the Musical, beginning 15 Apr 2013.

Sakolove steps into the show as a swing while Mosher, who starred in 'Hairspray' on Broadway, replaces Christine Pedi who has stepped out of the production for ten weeks to play 'Mama Morton' from 8 Apr - 16 Jun 2013 in the Broadway production of 'Chicago.'

Mosher previously appeared in Newsical the Musical in October 2012. Producer Tom D'Angora said,

I'm so thrilled Susie is back. She is one of the funniest people in North America and we have missed her.

I've been waiting a long time to work with Carly and the timing finally lined up. Her talents are a perfect fit for our quirky little show.

Mosher and Sakolov will join current cast members Christina Bianco, Ryan Knowles, Tommy Walker and Michael West.

Newsical, by Rick Crom, opened at Theatre Row's Kirk Theater on 9 Jan 2011, following previews from 13 Dec 2010, and is currently booking through to 30 Jun 2013.

With songs and material being updated on a regular basis, composer-lyricist Rick Crom's topical musical comedy is an ever-evolving mockery of all the news that's fit to spoof.

Rounding out the creative team are Ed Goldschneider (music director), Jason Courson (set designer), David Kally (costume designer) and Scott Delacruz (stage manager).

The show is produced by Tom D'Angora (Broadway Diva Christmas, Naked Boys Singing!, Divas I've Done) and Elyse Pasquale (Betty Rules).
