Natasha Richardson dies in skiing accident at 45


Film and stage actress Natasha Richardson died at the age of 45, on 18 Mar 2009, from head injuries sustained in a skiing accident in Canada.

She fell on a beginners' slope at the Mont Tremblant resort in Quebec on 16 Mar 2009.

Natasha Richardson, daughter of actress Vanessa Redgrave and wife of Liam Neeson, won a Tony Award in 1998, for her portrayal of Sally Bowles in a a revival of the musical 'Cabaret,' and was nominated for a Tony for her portrayal of 'Anna Christopherson' in 'Anna Christie' (1992) in which she starred alongside her husband to be 'Liam Neeson.' Other Broadway credits include 'Closer' (1999) and 'A Streetcar Named Desire' (2005).

In London she appeared at the Almeida theatre in 2003 in "The Lady From the Sea" directed by Trevor Nunn.
