N. Christopher assumes the role of George Washington
Having covered the role this past summer, Nicholas Christopher officially assumes the role of George Washinton in Hamilton at Broadway's Richard Rodgers Theatre tonight and will continue in the role until 31 December 2016. He will then go on to star as John in the upcoming Broadway revival of Miss Saigon at the Broadway Theatre.
Original cast member and Tony nominee Christopher Jackson played his final performance as George Washington on 13 November 2016.
The principal cast of Hamilton currently includes Javier Muñoz (Alexander Hamilton), two-time Tony nominee Brandon Victor Dixon (Aaron Burr), Lexi Lawson (Eliza Hamilton), Mandy Gonzalez (Angelica Schuyler), Nicholas Christopher (George Washington), Anthony Ramos (John Laurens/Phillip Hamilton), Okieriete Onaodowan (James Madison/Hercules Mulligan), Jasmine Cephas Jones (Peggy Schuyler/Maria Reynolds) and Rory O'Malley (King George).
The Broadway production of Hamilton officially opened on 6 August 2015 to excellent reviews, following previews from 13 July, and is currently booking through to 5 November 2017.
Hamilton features a book, music, and lyrics by Tony winner Lin-Manuel Miranda, and is inspired by the book "Alexander Hamilton" by Ron Chernow.

Hamilton is directed by Thomas Kail, with music direction and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler, scenic design by David Korins, costume design by Paul Tazewell, lighting design by Howell Binkley, and sound design by Nevin Steinberg. It is produced on Broadway by The Public Theater, Jeffrey Seller, Sander Jacobs and Jill Furman.
