Mouth to Mouth at Theatre Row's Acorn Theatre


The New Group presents the U.S. premiere of Kevin Elyot�s Mouth to Mouth, directed by Mark Brokaw as the first production in its 2008-2009 season, opening at Theatre Row's Acorn Theatre on 6 Nov 2008, following previews from 21 Oct and running through to 27 Dec 2008.

Mouth to Mouth: Frank, a gay writer living with AIDS, attends a party at his friend Laura's house to celebrate the return of her teenage son from abroad. As the story shifts back and forth through time, it's clear that Frank may have played an unscrupulous part in the unraveling of his best girlfriend's family.

Directed by Mark Brokaw, Mouth to Mouth features Christopher Abbott, David Cale, Lisa Emery, Darren Goldstein, Elizabeth Jasicki, Andrew Polk and Richard Topol.

The creative team includes Riccardo Hernandez (sets), Michael Krass (costumes), Mark McCullough (lighting) and David Van Tieghem (sound).

Bios:

Director Mark Brokaw helmed the Tony nominated Broadway production of 'Cry-Baby' (2008). His additional Broadway credits include 'The Constant Wife' (2005 revival) and 'Reckless' (2004.) With The New Group, Brokaw directed Kenneth Lonergan�s 'This Is Our Youth' (1996-97 season).

Christopher Abbott is making his debut with The New Group. He recently appeared off-Broadway in the Second Stage Theatre's production of 'Good Boys and True' David Cale's Broadway credits: 'The Threepenny Opera' (2006) and 'Present Laughter' (1996). Off-Broadway he has appeared in The New Group's productions of 'My Night With Reg,' 'The Fastest Clock in the Universe' and 'Two Thousand Years.' In 1998 he was awarded a OBIE Special Citation Award for his work in 'Lillian' presented by Playwright Horizons.

Lisa Emery Broadway credits include 'The Smell of the Kill' (2002), 'The Women' (2001 revival), 'Jackie' (1997), 'Present Laughter' (1996), 'Rumors' (1998), 'Burn This' (1987) and 'Passion' (1983). She has twice been nominated for Lucille Lortel Nominations, the first was for her work in Manhattan Theatre Clubs production of 'Iron' and the second nomination was for her work in The New Group's production of 'Abigail's Party' She last appeared off-BRoadway in The New Group's production of 'The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie' playing 'Miss Mackay.'

Darren Goldstein: Off-Broadway he has appeared in The New Group's productions of 'Terrorism' and 'Abigail's Party' for which he was nominated for a OBIE Award for his performance as 'Tony.'

Other off-Broadway credits include 'Intimate Apparel' (Roundabout Theatre Company), 'Gutenberg! The Musical!' (Gutenberg! The Musical!), he last appeared off-Broadway in the Vineyard's production of 'Mary Rose.'

Elizabeth Jasicki in playing in her second New Group production, she made her Off-Broadway debut in the company's production of 'Abigail's Party.'

Andrew Polk is playing in his second New Group Production, he was nomiated for the 2007 Drama Desk Award Nomination for Outstanding Featured Actor in the company's production of 'The Accomplices.' Other off-Broadway credits include 'The Ash Fire' (American Jewish Theatre), 'The Truth-Teller' (Circle Repertory Theatre), ' The Odyssey' (Willow Cabin Theater), 'Flight' (Melting Pot Theatre Company) and 'Almost, Maine' at the Daryl Roth Theatre. He last appeared off-Broadway in 'Walmartopia' which played at the Minetta Lane Theatre.

Richard Topol's Broadway credits include 'The School for Scandal' (1995 revival), 'Julius Caesar ' (2005 revival), 'Awake and Sing!' (2006 revival) and 'Cymbeline' (2007 revival). He last appeared off-Broadway in Primary Stages production of 'Opus.' Topol is making his debut with The New Group.
