Motherthood Out Loud: cast announced



Primary Stages have announced the full cast for their New York premiere of Motherhood Out Loud - originally to be called 'In Mother Words' - conceived by Susan R. Rose and Joan Stein, and written by a collection of thirteen American playwrights.

Directed by Lisa Peterson, Motherhood Out Loud features Mary Bacon, Saidah Arrika Ekulona, Randy Graff and James Lecesne.

Press notes desribe the play as: "Utterly unpredictable, Motherhood Out Loud shatters traditional notions about parenthood, unveils its inherent comedy and celebrates the deeply personal truths that span and unite generations. Motherhood Out Loud reveals with illuminating insight the humor, raw emotions and rocky roads we experience in life."

The writers of Motherhood Out Loud are Leslie Ayvazian, David Cale, Jessica Goldberg, Beth Henley, Lameece Issaq, Claire LaZebnik, Lisa Loomer, Michele Lowe, Marco Pennette, Theresa Rebeck, Luanne Rice, Annie Weisman and Cheryl L. West.

The design team includes Rachel Hauk (set), David C. Woolard (costume), Christopher Kuhl (lighting) and Jill B.C. DuBoff (sound).

Motherhood Out Loud had its world premiere at Hartford Stage and recently completed its West Coast premiere at the Geffen Playhouse, both under the direction of Lisa Peterson.
