MCC Theater announce upcoming season, live performances to resume in fall 2021

Dates for future productions are to be confirmed shortly.

After 12 months of virtual offerings, MCC Theater will return to in-person productions this fall. Five productions have been announced for the upcoming season, with scheduled performances through to June 2022.

The season begins with Jocelyn Bioh's Nollywood Dreams at the Newman Mills Theater. Set in 1990s Nigeria, Ayamma dreams of Nollywood stardom. When she lands an audition, she comes head to head with writer Gbenga Ezie and local heartthrob Wale. Saheem Ali directs, with performances from October - November 2021.

Van Hughes and Nick Blaemire write and star in their new musical, Space Dogs at the Susan and Ronald Frankel Theater. Inspired by Cold War politics, Space Dogs follows a Russian scientist and a stray dog sent to space. Performances are from January - February 2022.

Ana Nogueira's Here She Is, Boys will run at the Newman Mills Theater from April - May 2022. Set in 2015, Jeff and Judy are waiting at the stage door of If/Then to collect autographs. Mike Donohue directs Here She Is Boys.

Whitney White will direct Donja R. Love's soft at the Susan and Ronald Frankel Theater from May - June 2022. In a classroom at a correctional boarding school, Mr. Isaiah struggles to teach Black and Brown boys stuck in a world that is harming them.

The 21st edition of the MCC Youth Company's Uncensored will also take place in spring 2022.
