Margaret Fleming: A proper young mother and the devoted wife of a mill town�s leading citizen sees her world overturned when she faces the living proof of her husband�s infidelity: his illegitimate child with a working class girl. Her response to her discovery shocked audiences in 1890, and it is no less bold a declaration of independent spirit today.
