Love's Labour's Lost: Rachel Dratch joins cast



Saturday Night Live alum Rachel Dratch will play the role of 'Holofernes' in the free Shakespeare in the Park production of a new musical adaptation of Shakespeare's Love's Labour Lost: A New Musical, opening at the Delacorte Theater on 12 Aug 2013, following previews from 23 Jul 2013, and closing on 18 Aug 2013.

Dratch is best known for her seven seasons on "Saturday Night Live." In 2007 she appeared Off-Broadway at the Minetta Lane Theatre in 'Spalding Gray: Stories Left to Tell.' In 2009 she starred opposite Christopher Fitzgerald in the Los Angeles premiere of the musical 'Minsky's'. Her TV work includes starring as "Esmargot" in the comedy series "Fish Hooks."

Dratch joins the previously announced Daniel Breaker (King of Navarre), Kevin Del Aguila (Dull), Colin Donnell (Berowne), Andrew Durand (Boyet), Kimiko Glenn (Maria), Jeff Hiller (Nathaniel), Rebecca Naomi Jones (Jaquenetta), Justin Levine (Moth), Patti Murin (Princess), Lucas Near-Verbrugghe (Dumaine), Bryce Pinkham (Longaville), Charlie Pollock (Costard), Caesar Samayoa (Don Armado), Maria Thayer (Rosaline) and Audrey Lynn Weston (Katherine).

Love's Labour Lost: A New Musical features songs by Michael Friedman, book adapted by Alex Timbers, based on the play by William Shakespeare.

In Love's Labour Lost: A New Musical, directed by Alex Timbers, the King and his best buds decide at their five-year college reunion to swear off the joys of women. But when four cute, clever girls from their past show up, they're forced to reconsider all of that nonsense!

The creative team features sets by John Lee Beatty, costumes by Jennifer Moeller, lighting by Jeff Croiter, and sound design by ACME Sound Partners.

Love's Labour Lost: A New Musical is the second and final production of this year's Shakespeare in the Park Season. The season began with 'The Comedy of Errors' which played from 28 May - 30 Jun 2013.

Free Tickets to The Public Theater's Shakespeare in the Park are distributed, two per person, at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park on the day of the show.
