Jump posts early closing notices

The new production of the live-action martial arts comedy show, Jump, created by Yegam, Inc. Productions, has posted early closing notices, and will play its final performance after just 33 previews.

Presented by Show & Arts USA, LLC., Jump began previews at New World Stages / Stage 4 on 11 May 2011, and was scheduled to open on 23 Jun 2011. The show had been selling tickets through to 2 Oct 2011.

The press release announcing the closure reads, "Due to an unprecedented number of shows playing on and off-Broadway this season, Jump was not able to establish a strong enough presence to drive substantial ticket sales."

Jump combines comedy, martial arts, acrobatics and live-action shenanigans. It's the story of one, very unusual family and all the mishaps and misadventures that ensue.

Directed by Jun-Sang Lee, the new production of Jump features Seok-Hoon Gu, Yeop Heo, Yun-Gab Hong, Hun-Young Jo, Eun-Jin Jung, Dong-Kyun Kim, Myoung-Sub Kim, Ju-Hee Lee, Gi-Heon Paek, Yeon-Jeong Park, Sang-Rok Seo and Jung-Hoon Shin.

The show features scenic design is by Mi-Ran Park, costumes design by Dolsilnai, Inc., lighting design by Sun-Ju Jung and sound design by Ju-Hwan Eum.

The original production of Jump premiered at the Union Square Theatre from 7 Oct 2007 - 20 Jul 2008.

The recipient of numerous international prizes, Jump won the 2006 'Comedy Award' at Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the 'Grand Prize for Drama and Musical' from the Korean National Assembly, and was featured in 'The Royal Variety Performance' shown on BBC TV in December 2006. In 2007, the Korean International Trade Association gave a special citation to Jump for its outstanding international, commercial performance. In 2008, the Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism awarded Jump the prize as 'The Best Performing Arts of Korea.'

Currently, there are productions running in Seoul, Jeju Island and there is an international tour scheduled for 2011-12 which will travel to Singapore, Japan and Columbia
