John Riddle & Bradley Dean join the cast of The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway

Riddle & Dean assume the roles of Raoul & Monsieur André, respectively, in Broadway's longest-running production.

The Broadway production of The Phantom of the Opera, the longest-running show in Broadway history, welcomes two new principal cast members to its company at the Majestic Theatre tonight. John Riddle assumes the role of Raoul, whilst Bradley Dean takes on the role of Monsieur André in the iconic musical. They succeed Jay Armstrong Johnson and Laird Mackintosh, respectively, who played their final performances on September 10.

Mr. Riddle recently originated the role of Hans in Disney's Frozen and made his Broadway debut as Young Anton in The Visit. Mr. Dean recently appeared in Bat Out of Hell at New York City Center and his previous Broadway credits include CompanyDear Evan Hansen, Doctor ZhivagoEvitaJane EyreThe Last Ship, A Little Night Music, Man of La Mancha, and Monty Python's Spamalot.

The principal cast of The Phantom of the Opera currently includes Ben Crawford (as The Phantom), Kaley Ann Voorhees (as Christine Daaé), John Riddle (as Raoul), Bradley Dean (as Monsieur André), Craig Bennett (as Monsieur Firmin), Raquel Suarez Groen (as Carlotta), Maree Johnson (as Madme Giry), Carlton Moe (as Piangi), Kelsey Connolly (as Meg Giry), and Eryn LeCroy (as alternate Christine Daaé).

As previously reportedMeghan Picerno is scheduled to succeed Kaley Ann Voorhees in the role of Christine Daaé from October 14, 2019.

Directed by the late Harold PrinceThe Phantom of the Opera officially opened at the Majestic Theatre on January 26, 1988, following previews from January 9, and went on to sweep the 1988 Tony Awards, winning seven categories including "Best Musical".

The Phantom of the Opera features music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, lyrics by Charles Hart (with additional lyrics by Richard Stilgoe) and a book by Richard Stilgoe and Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Based on the classic novel 'Le Fantôme de L'Opéra' by Gaston Leroux, The Phantom of the Opera tells the story of "a masked figure who lurks beneath the catacombs of the Paris Opera House, exercising a reign of terror over all who inhabit it. He falls madly in love with an innocent young soprano, Christine, and devotes himself to creating a new star by nurturing her extraordinary talents and by employing all of the devious methods at his command."

The musical features scenic design by the late Maria Björnson, lighting design by Andrew Bridge and sound design by Martin Levan. Musical staging and choreography is by the late Gillian Lynne and orchestrations are by David Cullen and Andrew Lloyd Webber.

The Phantom of the Opera Tickets are available now for performances through to March 28, 2020.
