Ivanov: Postpones opening night to 15 Nov 2012

The Classic Stage Company's (CSC) revival of Anton Chekhov's Ivanov, translated by Carol Rocamora, postpones its opening night to 15 Nov 2012. The delay has been caused by Hurricane Sandy which has left the CSC home without power.

The show, which began previews on 17 Oct 2012, was originally scheduled to open at the Class Stage Company on 4 Nov 2012. The show will still close on 9 Dec 2012 as originally announced.

Directed by Austin Pendleton the cast features Ethan Hawke (Nikolai Ivanov), Joely Richardson (Anna), Glenn Fitzgerald (Borkin), Roberta Maxwell (Zinaida), George Morfogen (Shabelsky), Juliet Rylance (Sasha), Jonathan Marc Sherman (Lvov) and Austin Pendleton (Lebedev).

Once a man of limitless promise, Ivanov is plunged into debt. His marriage is in crisis, and his evenings are spent negotiating loans, avoiding love affairs and fighting to resist the small town jealousies and intrigues which threaten to engulf his life.

The creative team features set design by Santo Loquasto, costumes by Marco Piemon, lighting by Keith Parham and sound by Ryan Rumery.
