She's a woman of the world! Isabelle McCalla will join the cast of Shucked on Broadway beginning September 8 at the Nederlander Theatre.

McCalla is best known for originating the roles of Alyssa Greene in The Prom on Broadway, Megara in Hercules at New Jersey's Paper Mill Playhouse, and Marlena in Water for Elephants at Georgia's Alliance Theatre.

She will now assume the leading role of Maizy from original Shucked cast member Caroline Innerbichler, who plays her final performance on September 3.

The current Shucked Broadway cast also includes John Behlmann, Tony Award nominee Kevin Cahoon, Andrew Durand, Grey Henson, Ashley D. Kelley, and Tony Award winner Alex Newell.

Shucked takes place in a small rural town called Cob County, which is thrown into trouble when its beloved corn crop starts dying. The farmgirl Maizy ventures to the big city to help, finding love and a new worldview along the way.

Jack O'Brien directs the nine-time Tony Award-nominated musical, which features a book by Robert Horn and music by Brandy Clark and Shane McAnally. All received Tony nominations for their work.
