According to the New York Post, Tony, Olivier, Oscar, Golden Globe and BAFTA-winning actor Kevin Spacey, who recently completed his 11 year tenure as Artistic Director of the Old Vic Theatre in London, may well be eyeing a return to the Great White Way.

Spacey would take on the role of Edward R. Murrow, who worked as an anchor for CBS and challenged Senator Joseph McCarthy's communist witch hunt back in 1954, in a stage adaptation of the 2005 movie Good Night, and Good Luck. There is currently no time scale for the production.

Spacey was last seen on Broadway in the 2007 revival of 'A Moon for the Misbegotten.' He won a Tony Award in 1991 for his performance as Louie in 'Lost in Yonkers.' He was also nominated in 1999 for playing Theodore Hickman in 'The Iceman Cometh.' Other Broadway credits include 'Long Day's Journey Into Night' (1986), 'Hurlyburly' (1984-5) and his Broadway debut in 'Ghosts' (1982).

In recent years, he has appeared mostly on the London stage due to his residency at the Old Vic. His West End credits include 'Clarence Darrow,' 'Inherit the Wind,' 'A Moon for the Misbegotten,' 'National Anthems,' 'Philadelphia Story,' 'Richard II,' 'Richard III,' and 'Speed-The-Plow.'

His many screen credits include "American Beauty," "The Usual Suspects," "L.A. Confidential," "Moon," "Se7en," "House of Cards," and many more.

Good Night, and Good Luck was nominated for a total of 6 Academy Awards in 2006, including "Best Motion Picture of the Year" and "Best Achievement in Directing" for George Clooney. It also earned 4 Golden Globe nominations and 6 BAFTA nominations. Alongside Clooney, it also starred David Strathairn, Patricia Clarkson, Jeff Daniels, Frank Langella and Robert Downey Jr.
