In the Next Room plays final performance

The Lincoln Center Theater's Broadway production of Sarah Ruhl's In the Next Room plays its final performance at the Lyceum Theatre on 10 Jan 2010 as scheduled.

In the Next Room opened at Broadway's Lyceum Theater on 19 Nov 2009, following previews from 22 Oct. The comedy played 31 previews and 60 regular performances.

The comedy opened to mostly excellent reviews: "Insightful, fresh and funny (NY Times); Smart, delicate and very, very funny (NY Post); "A smart, charming, iridescently funny-serious jewel." (Bloomberg).

In the Next Room is a comedy about marriage, intimacy and electricity. Set at the dawn of the age of electricity; the play centers on a doctor and his wife and how his experimental therapy affects their entire household.

Directed by Les Waters, In the Next Room starred Laura Benanti (Mrs. Givings), Quincy Tyler Bernstine (Elizabeth), Michael Cerveris (Dr. Givings), Maria Dizzia (Mrs. Daldry), Thomas Jay Ryan (Mr. Daldry), Wendy Rich Stetson (Annie) and Chandler Williams (Leo Irving).

The cretive team featured sets by Annie Smart, costumes by David Zinn, lighting by Russell Champa, sound by Bray Poor and original music by Jonathan Bell.
