If There Is...: resumes performances

The Roundabout Theatre Company's American premiere of Nick Payne's comic drama If There is I Haven't Found It Yet, starring Oscar nominee Jake Gyllenhaal, returns to the Laura Pels Theatre following a two week haitus.

The limited run took a 12 day break before resuming performances at the Laura Pels Theatre on 8 Dec 2012, where it will play a two week extension through to 23 Dec 2012.

The haitus in the show's run was to allow Jake Gyllenhaal to meet his contractual obligations to promote his new movie, "End of Watch."

If There is I Haven't Found It Yet opened at the Laura Pels Theatre on 20 Sep 2012, following previews from 24 Aug 2012, and was originally scheduled to close on 25 Nov 2012.

The show opened to mixed, but mostly good reviews: Amiable, scruffy, erratic (NY Times); Far from perfect but likable (NY Daily News); A riveting evening of theater (Back Stage); Blistering domestic drama (Variety).

If There is I Haven't Found It Yet: Fifteen-year-old Anna's weight makes her a natural target for bullies. When her mom transfers Anna to the school where she teaches in order to protect her daughter, it only makes things worse. Anna's environmentalist dad, determined to finish his new book and save the planet, is no help at all. Just as Anna gets suspended for retaliating with a head-butt, her estranged uncle Terry (Jake Gyllenhaal) arrives unannounced. A heartbroken drifter with the mouth of a sailor, Terry reaches out to Anna in a way that no one ever has. Their unexpected friendship sends her parents' rocky marriage into a tailspin as the whole family wonders, what--or who--really needs saving?

Directed by Michael Longhurst, the cast features Annie Funke as 'Anna,' *Michelle Gomez as 'Fiona,' Jake Gyllenhaal as 'Terry' and Brían F. O'Byrne as 'George.'

*From 23 Oct 2012 Enid Graham (The Constant Wife) will assume the role of 'Fiona.'

The creative team includes Beowulf Boritt (Sets), Susan Hilferty (Costumes), Natasha Katz (Lights) and Obadiah Eaves (Original Music & Sound).
