I Coulda Been a Kennedy at the Players Theatre

Rude Mechanicals Theater Company presents I Coulda Been a Kennedy, a comedy by Dennis Trainor, Jr, playing at the Players Theatre from 11 - 26 Aug 2006, as part of the New York International Fringe Festival.

I Coulda Been a Kennedy: Meet the OReilly family as they scheme to elevate their prodigal son to the highest office in the land. Vietnam, the Iran-Contra scandal, the war in Iraq, the Bush/Kerry election and cicadas conspire against them in this comic American epic.

Centers on Devin O'Reilly, the 'beneficiary' of his comically inept familys grandiose scheme to forge him into a world leader. Weaving back and forth between 1970, 1987 and 2004, the comedy charts three generations of the OReilly family on its collision course with three generations of American history.

Directed by Ted Sluberski, I Coulda Been a Kennedy features Julie Fitzpatrick, Matthew Lawler, Helen Piper Coxe, Stephen Bradbury, Crystal Bock, Mimi Cozzens, Denise Lute and Kelsey Kurz.
