Heartbreak House: Tickets now on sale.

Tickets went on sale to the general public today (26 Aug 2006) for the Roundabout Theatre Compamy's production of George Bernard Shaw's Heartbreak House opening at the American Airlines on 11 Oct 2006, following previews from 15 Sep and running through to 10 Dec 2006.

Heartbreak House follows the unlikely romantic encounters that occur in an estate on the English countryside. Romance springs ever eternal but never mutual, and the only stable marriages have the least to do with love.

Directed by Robin Lefevre, Heartbreak House features Philip Bosco (Captain Shotover), Swoosie Kurtz (Hesione Hushabye), Byron Jennings (Hector), Lily Rabe (Ellie Dunn), Laila Robins (Lady Utterword), Bill Camp (Mangan), John Christopher Jones (Mazzini Dunn) and Jenny Sterlin (Nurse Guinness).

The design team for Heartbreak House features John Lee Beatty (sets), Jane Greenwood (costumes), Peter Kaczorowski (lights) and Dan Moses Schreier (sound).

Heartbreak House premiered on Broadway on 20 Nov 1920 at the Garrick Theatre. The show has since been revived three times on Broadway, in 1938, 1959 and 1983. The most recent revival opened on 7 Dec 1983 at the Circle in the Square Theatre starring Philip Bosco as 'Mangan', Rosemary Harris as 'Hesione Hushabye', Rex Harrison as 'Captain Shotover' and Dana Ivey as 'Lady Utterwood'.
