Handle with Care to close on 09 Mar 2014

Jason Odell Williams comedy Handle with Care will play its final performance on 09 Mar 2014.

Handle with Care opened at the Westside Theatre Downstairs on 15 Dec 2013, following previews from 03 Dec 2013.

Producers Charlotte Cohn and Douglas Denoff said,

We always knew that "Handle With Care" was a regional darling, and we are very gratified that New York audiences have also embraced the show with love. We look forward to its continued success in theatres around the world.
The comedy opened to mixed reviews: Hilarious and heartwarming (NY Times); Don't expect any nutrition from its sticky sweetness (Time Out NY); The denouement ... is sweet, but what transpires before it is ho-hum stuff (Newsroom Jersey).

Handle with Care tells the story of a young Israeli woman who reluctantly travels with her grandmother to America. The young woman, who has little command of English, meets a man who has little command of romance. Is their inevitable love an accident, or destiny generations in the making?

Stacey Oristano from the TV series "Bunheads" (Truly Stone) and "Friday Night Lights" (Mindy Riggins) will join the cast on 13 Jan 2014, taking over the role of lounge singer 'Jackie' - replacing Mary Birdsong.

Directed by Karen Carpenter, the cast features Carol Lawrence (Edna), Sheffield Chastain (Terrence), Charlotte Cohn (Ayelet) and Jonathan Sale (Josh).

The creative team features sets by David L. Arsenault, costumes by Brian Hemesath and lighting by Cory Pattak.
