HAM: a Musical Memoir at the Theater 511 at Ars Nova

A new theatrical event based on Sam Harris' book, 'HAM: Slices of a Life' will run at the Theater 511 at Ars Nova for a limited three week season from 8 to 24 January 2015, with an official opening on 12 January 2015.

HAM: A Musical Memoir is written and performed by Sam Harris alongside Todd Schroeder who also serves as musical director, and is described as "a musical memoir based on his colourful life, from Bible-Belt Oklahoma to show biz to fatherhood and everything in between."

The production will be directed by Billy Porter and produced by Susan Dietz and Elaine Krause. It also features lighting and sound design by Matt Berman, along wish scenic design by Reid Thompson.

Sam Harris first came to national attention as the first winner of TV's 'Star Search'. Other TV credits include 'The Class' and 'Rules of Engagement'. On Broadway he has starred in 'The Life', 'The Producers' and 'Grease'.

Billy Porter is a Tony and Grammy Award-winning singer, composer, actor, playwright and director. He currently stars as 'Lola' in the Broadway musical Kinky Boots, for which he won the 2013 Drama Desk and Tony Awards for Best Actor in a Musical.
