After an official opening at the start of this month, further programming of shows at Radial Park at Halletts Point Play has been confirmed. As well as extra performances of Purple Rain, there'll also be film screenings and a LGBTQ+ event.

Drag queen DJ Misty Mountains will host Out Purple, a LGBTQ+ evening where guests are encouraged to wear purple. The one-off show on October 24 will take place between two performances of Purple Rain, starring Nick Rashad Burroughs, currently in Tina the Musical.

For the Halloween weekend, audiences will be able to watch scary movies, as well as magic shows and even enter a haunted house. The movie line-up includes Beetlejuice on October 29, Hocus Pocus on October 30 and The Rocky Horror Picture Show on October 31.

Speaking about the drive-in, The Durst Organization's principal Helena Rose Durst said: "Radial Park will provide a unique live entertainment experience that we are all craving during these difficult times, but in a safe and responsible way."

The experience began with live performances of The Phantom of the Opera, with audiences listening from the comfort of their own cars, or via reserved picnic tables which come with a boombox.
