Fri 21 Nov 2003 "Golden Girls forced to close The Golden Girls Live, has been forced to close at the Rose's Turn after being served with a cease and desist order. New World Productions (NWP) closed its production because it had never secured, and was unable to secure, the necessary stage rights for the underlying property, "The Golden Girls". Apparently, "the producers thought all was OK, since they had the blessing of the LIFETIME cable network, which owns the rights to the series, but they neglected to secure the rights to the intellectual property itself."
