The Manhattan Theatre Club have announced a cast change for their upcoming Broadway production of Lillian Hellman's The Little Foxes, directed by Tony winner Daniel Sullivan, which begins previews at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre on March 29, 2017, before an official opening on April 19 and a limited engagement through to June 18, 2017.

Francesca Carpanini will make her Broadway debut and replace previously announced Lyla Porter-Follows as Alexandra in the cast. She joins Laura Linney and Cynthia Nixon, who will alternate in the roles of Regina Hubbard Giddens and Birdie Hubbard, as well as Darren Goldstein (Oscar), Michael McKean (Ben), Richard Thomas (Horace), David Alford (Mr. Marshall), Michael Benz (Leo), Caroline Stefanie Clay (Addie), Francesca Carpanini (Alexandra) and Charles Turner (Cal).

Francesca Carpanini recently appeared as Chris in the world premiere of the stage adaptation of 'Dead Poets Society' at Classic Stage Company in 2016 and previously appeared in the Public Theater's "Shakespeare in the Park" production of 'The Tempest' as Miranda in 2015.

Synopsis: "Set in Alabama in 1900, The Little Foxes follows Regina Giddens and her ruthless clan, including her sister-in-law Birdie, as they clash in often brutal ways in an effort to strike the deal of their lives. Far from a sentimental look at a bygone era, the play has a surprisingly timely resonance with important issues facing our country today."

The creative team behind The Little Foxes features scenic design by Scott Pask, costume design by Jane Greenwood, lighting design by Justin Townsend, sound design by Fitz Patton, hair & wig design by Tom Watson, make-up design by Tommy Kurzman, fight direction by Thomas Schall and dialect coaching by Deborah Hecht.

Both Linney and Nixon will play the roles in repertory, appearing opposite each other at each performance.
