Elle Fanning joins 'Appropriate' Broadway cast

The Emmy Award-nominated actress makes her Broadway debut in this play by Pulitzer Prize finalist Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, beginning performances in November.

We're fans of this casting! Elle Fanning joins the cast of Appropriate on Broadway, playing at Second Stage Theater's Hayes Theater from November 29. Opening night is December 18.

Fanning is best known for her starring performance as as Catherine the Great on The Great, which earned her Emmy Award, SAG Award, and Golden Globe nominations. Her other best-known credits include Maleficent (opposite Angelina Jolie), The Girl from Plainville, All the Bright Places, and Ginger & Rosa.

She now makes her Broadway debut in Appropriate, joining previously announced cast members Sarah Paulson, Corey Stoll, Natalie Gold, and Alyssa Emily Marvin. Additional casting has yet to be announced.

Appropriate is the Broadway-debut play of two-time Pulitzer Prize finalist Branden Jacobs-Jenkins. When Toni (Paulson), her brother Bo (Stoll), and their family reunite to settle their late patriarch's estate in Arkansas, long-held secrets and resentments boil over.

Lila Neugebauer directs. Appropriate also features features scenic design by dots, costume design by Dede Ayite, lighting design by Jane Cox, and sound design by Will Pickens and Bray Poor.
