Following an extended, critically acclaimed run this winter, the Broadway play Appropriate will launch a second engagement. The show will end its current run at the Hayes Theater on March 3 and reopen at the Belasco Theatre on March 25, playing a limited engagement there through June 23.

Appropriate, the Broadway-debut play by Pulitzer Prize finalist Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, stars Sarah Paulson as Toni, who reunites her adult siblings and their families to settle their late patriarch’s estate. Tensions explode as they unearth dark secrets about their father and each other.

Appropriate, which first bowed off Broadway in 2014, has all the hallmarks of a great American drama — and then some,” New York Theatre Guide’s five-star review reads.

Alongside Paulson, the play also features Elle Fanning, Corey Stoll, Natalie Gold, Michael Esper, Alyssa Emily Marvin, Graham Campbell, Lincoln Cohen, and Everett Sobers. All but Fanning will return for the Belasco engagement under the direction of Lila Neugebauer.

Fanning's replacement will be announced soon.

The current run of Appropriate is a production of Second Stage Theater, a nonprofit company that produces multiple shows at the Hayes each season. Appropriate is moving to make way for the previously announced Mother Play, which is scheduled to open on April 2 with Jessica Lange, Jim Parsons, and Celia Keenan-Bolger.
