Early closure notice posted for The Prom at the Longacre Theatre
The Broadway premiere will now play its final performance on August 11, 2019.
Producers have posted an early closure notice for the Broadway premiere of The Prom, currently running at the Longacre Theatre. The production will now plays it final performance on August 11, 2019, and will have played a total of 23 previews and 310 regular performances upon closing.
The Prom began previews on October 23, 2018, before an official opening on November 15.
The cast of The Prom stars Brooks Ashmanskas (as Barry Glickman), Beth Leavel (as Dee Dee Allen), Christopher Sieber (as Trent Oliver), Caitlin Kinnunen (as Emma), Isabelle McCalla (as Alyssa Greene), Michael Potts (as Mr. Hawkins), Angie Schworer (as Angie), Courtenay Collins (as Mrs. Greene), and Josh Lamon (as Sheldon Saperstein).
The creative team of The Prom features a book by Bob Martin & Chad Beguelin, lyrics by Beguelin and music by Matthew Sekar. Casey Nicholaw directs and choreographs the production, with lighting design by Natasha Katz, sound design by Brian Ronan and scenic design by Scott Pask.
Synopsis: "We've got trouble, folks, right here in Indiana and when Broadway's brassiest hear a student is unceremoniously sidelined from a small-town Indiana prom - and the press is involved - they are ready to kick-ball-change the world. A new musical comedy about the power of love (and a good 11 o'clock number), The Prom is about so much more than just a dance."
A national tour of The Prom will commence in February 2021, with the tour starting in Providence, Rhode Island.
The Prom Tickets are available now for performances through August 11, 2019.
