Here lies casting! Initial casting has been set for Here Lies Love on Broadway, which begins performances at the Broadway Theatre on June 17 ahead of a July 20 opening.

Jose Llana and Conrad Ricamora will star in Here Lies Love as Ferdinand Marcos and Ninoy Aquino, respectively. The two reprise their Lucille Lortel Award-nominated roles from the musical's 2013 Off-Broadway premiere at The Public Theater.

Ricamora is known for The King & I on Broadway and How to Get Away With Murder, Fire Island, and The Resident on screen. Llana is known for The King & I and The 25th Annual Putnam Country Spelling Bee on Broadway.

Additional casting, including for the lead role of Imelda Marcos, has yet to be announced.

David Byrne and Fatboy Slim's musical dramatizes Ferdinand and Imelda Marcos' time as leaders of the Philippines, from their rise to power to their fall during the People's Power Revolution, led by Aquino.

The story is presented as an immersive disco musical. The Broadway Theatre will be transformed into a dance club for Here Lies Love, where actors will perform among the audience.

In addition to Byrne and Fatboy Slim's original songs, Here Lies Love and features additional music by Tom Gandey and J Pardo. The show is co-developed and directed by Alex Timbers, and choreographed by Annie-B Parson, both of whom previously worked with Byrne on American Utopia.
