Arielle Jacobs to lead 'Here Lies Love' Broadway cast
She joins fellow principal cast members Jose Llana and Conrad Ricamora, who reprise their roles from the Off-Broadway premiere production at The Public Theater.
Here lies Arielle! Arielle Jacobs will lead the Broadway cast of Here Lies Love, the musical by David Byrne and Fatboy Slim coming to Broadway this summer. Performances begin June 17 ahead of a July 20 opening at the Broadway Theatre.
Here Lies Love comes to Broadway 10 years after its Off-Broadway premiere at The Public Theater. The show depicts the rise and fall of former Filipino leaders Ferdinand and Imelda Marcos, and the immersive production unfolds all around audiences in a disco dance club.
Who is in the Here Lies Love Broadway cast?
Arielle Jacobs, known for starring in Aladdin and In the Heights, will star as Imelda Marcos. Tony Award nominee Ruthie Ann Miles, who now stars in Sweeney Todd on Broadway, played the role off Broadway.
Jacobs joins previously announced cast members Jose Llana as Ferdinand Marcos, Conrad Ricamora as anti-Marcos revolution leader Ninoy Aquino, and Lea Salonga, who will guest star for a limited five-week engagement as Aurora Aquino beginning July 11.
Additional casting will be announced at a later date.
