Collected Stories: Sarah Paulson joins cast

Manhattan Theatre Club announce Golden Globe nominee Sarah Paulson ('Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip') will join Tony Award winner Linda Lavin (Broadway Bound) in the upcoming Broadway premiere of Donald Margulies' two hander play Collected Stories, to be directed by Lynne Meadow.

The drama opens at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre on 28 Apr 2010, following previews from 6 Apr and will play a limited engagement through to 13 Jun 2010. Tickets are now on sale to the general public.

Collected Stories chronicles the relationship between two female writers: Ruth Steiner (Lavin), a celebrated New York author with a dry wit and a distinguished career; and her bright-eyed young protégé, Lisa Morrison (). As their relationship evolves and the line between fact and fiction starts to blur, their story comes to an explosive conclusion.

The design team for Collected Stories includes Santo Loquasto (Scenic Design), Jane Greenwood (Costume Design), Natasha Katz (Lighting Design), and Obadiah Eaves (Sound Design).

Sarah Paulson made her Broadway debut in 2005 when she played 'Laura Wingfield' in 'The Glass Menagerie.' She recently starred Off-Broadway in MCC Theater's production of 'Still Life' at the Lucille Lortel Theatre. Other Off-Broadway credits include: Crimes of the Heart; Colder Than Here; Killer Joe and Talking Pictures. Paulson was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best actress for her role as 'Harriet Hayes' in the TV series 'Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip.' Other notable TV work includes playing 'Merlyn Temple' in the cult television series 'American Gothic.'

Collected Stories played its British premiere at London's Haymarket Theatre from the 15 Nov 1999 - 5 Feb 2000, it was directed by Howard Davies and starred Helen Mirren as 'Ruth' and Anne-Marie Duff as 'Lisa .'
