Clever Little Lies to close on 24 January 2016

Producers of Joe DiPietro's new comedy Clever Little Lies have announced that the play will close early. Originally scheduled to end its limited engagement at the Westside Theatre on 20 March 2016, it will now play its final performance on 24 January 2016. Previews began on 18 September 2015, with an official opening on 14 October 2015. It will have played 28 preview performances and 120 regular performances.

Clever Little Lies is directed by David Saint and stars Emmy, Golden Globe, and Grammy Award-winner Marlo Thomas (Alice), George Merrick (Bill Jr.), Greg Mullavey (Bill Sr.) and Kate Wetherhead (Jane).

Synopsis: "A mother always knows when something is wrong. When Alice (Ms. Thomas) notices her beloved husband Bill has returned home on edge after a tennis match with their son, she grows suspicious and springs into action. Determined to piece together the puzzle, she invites her son and daughter-in-law over for drinks and dessert."

The creative team behind Clever Little Lies features scenic design by Yoshi Tanokura, costume design by Esther Arroyo, lighting design by Christopher J. Bailey, and sound design & composition by Scott Killian.

Clever Little Lies is produced by Joan Raffe, Jhett Tolentino and Douglas Denoff.

DiPietro's comedy made its world premiere at George Street Playhouse in 2013 and ran last summer at Guild Hall.
