Casa Valentina Announces Two Week Extension

Harvey Fierstein's Tony Award Nominated play Casa Valentina has extended its performances by two weeks due to popular demand. It will now run at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre through 29 June 2014.

Performances for the extension weeks will be Tuesday through Thursday at 7pm; Friday and Saturday at 8pm with additional matinees on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday at 2pm. Tickets for the extended run are now on sale.

Casa Valentina originally opened on 23 April 2014, following previews 1 Apr. The production has been nominated for four Tony Awards, including Best Play (Harvey Fierstein), Best Featured Actor in a Play (Reed Birney), Best Featured Actress in a Play (Mare Winningham) and Best Costume Design of a Play (Rita Ryack).

The cast includes Patrick Page (George/Valentina), John Cullum (Terrence/Terry), Reed Birney (Isadore/Charlotte), Gabriel Ebert (Jonathon/Miranda), Lisa Emery (Eleanor), Tom McGowan (Albert/Bessie), Larry Pine (Judge/Amy), Nick Westrate (Michael/Gloria) and Mare Winningham (Rita). It is directed by Joe Mantello, and features scenic design by Scott Pask, costume design by Rita Ryack, lighting design by Justin Townsend and original music & sound design by Fitz Patton.
