Tue 9 Dec 2003 "Caroline, or Change" extends to 4 Jan 2004 The new musical Caroline, or Change has been extended to 4 Jan 2004 at Public Theater's Newman Theater. The show, which opened on 30 Nov 2003, has book and lyrics By Tony Kushner, Music By Jeanine Tesori. The cast includes Reathel Bean, Harrison Chad, Tracy Nicole Chapman, Chuck Cooper, David Costabile, Veanne Cox, Marcus Carl Franklin, Marva Hicks, Capathia Jenkins, Larry Keith, Ramona Keller, Adriane Lenox, Tonya Pinkins, Alice Playten, Anika Noni Rose, Kevin Tate, Chandra Wilson. It is directed by George C. Wolfe, designed by Riccardo Hern�ndez, lighting by Jules Fisher and Peggy Eisenhauer, choreography by Hope Clarke, and costumes by Paul Tazewell. Louisiana, 1963: in a nation reeling from the burgeoning Civil Rights movement and the Kennedy assassination, Caroline, a black maid, and Noah, the son of the Jewish family she works for, struggle to find an identity for their friendship. Through their story, this new musical portrays the changing rhythms of a nation.
