Burleigh Grimes to close early

The comedy Burleigh Grimes, by Roger Kirby, is to close early on 16 Jul 2006. When the show closes it will have played 24 previews and 39 regular performances.

Burleigh Grimes opened at New World Stages' Stage 3 on 13 Jun 2006, following previews from 23 May and was originally booking through to 3 Sep 2006.

Burleigh Grimes is set in a world where no bad deed goes unrewarded. The comedy follows George Radbourn (James Badge Dale), a Wall Street newbie who doesnt recognize that his mentor, Burleigh Grimes (Mark Moses), may not be entirely sincere in appearance or agenda. A hard-driving stock market force, Grimes is a relentless man of infinite calculation, further assisted in his financial schemes by media powerhouse Elizabeth Bigley (Wendie Malick).

In an arena where the naive and sentimental face ruin, George struggles for survival under the hand of Grimes flexible business tactics, while also dealing with the arrival of his college sweetheart, Grace Redding (Ashley Williams), who will soon have to face some difficult choices of her own.

Directed by David Warren, Burleigh Grimes, features James Badge Dale, Wendie Malick and Mark Moses (Desperate Housewives), Ashley Williams, Nancy Anderson, Jason Antoon and John Lavelle.

The comedy has set design by Jim Youmans, costume design by Gregory Gale, lighting design by Jeff Croiter, sound design by Peter Fitzgerald and choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler.
