Bryan Terrell Clark debuts in Hamilton on B'way tonight

Bryan Terrell Clark begins performances tonight, taking on the role of George Washington in the Broadway production of Lin-Manuel Miranda's Tony Award-winning musical Hamilton at the Richard Rodgers Theatre. Nicholas Christopher played his final performance in the role on January 8 and will next be seen in the role of John in Miss Saigon at the Broadway Theatre from March 1, 2017.

Bryan Terrell Clark made his Broadway debut as Marvin Gaye in 'Motown The Musical.' Other stage credits include 'Immediate Family,' 'Fences,' 'Sophisticated Ladies,' and 'His Girl Friday.' Screen credits include 'Collateral Beauty,' 'Royal Pains,' 'Person of Interest,' 'Unforgettable,' 'The Unit,' and 'The Mysteries of Laura.'

As previously announced, "SNL" alum Taran Killam begins performances as King George on January 17, and Anthony Lee Medina as John Laurens/Philip Hamilton in March.

The current cast of Hamilton includes Javier Muñoz (Alexander Hamilton), two-time Tony nominee Brandon Victor Dixon (Aaron Burr), Lexi Lawson (Eliza Hamilton), Mandy Gonzalez (Angelica Schuyler), Bryan Terrell Clark (George Washington), Seth Stewart (Marques de Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson), Jordan Fisher (John Laurens/Phillip Hamilton), J. Quinton Johnson (James Madison/Hercules Mulligan), Alysha Deslorieux (Peggy Schuyler/Maria Reynolds), Rory O'Malley (King George) and Michael Luwoye (Alternate Alexander Hamilton).

The Broadway production of Hamilton officially opened on 6 August 2015 to excellent reviews, following previews from 13 July, and is currently booking through to 5 November 2017.

Hamilton features a book, music, and lyrics by Tony winner Lin-Manuel Miranda, and is inspired by the book "Alexander Hamilton" by Ron Chernow.

Synopsis: "Hamilton is a new musical about the scrappy young immigrant who forever changed America: Alexander Hamilton. From bastard orphan to Washington's right hand man, rebel to war hero, loving husband caught in the country's first sex scandal to Treasury head who made an untrusting world believe in the American economy, Hamilton is an exploration of a political mastermind. George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Eliza Hamilton, and lifelong Hamilton friend and foe, Aaron Burr, all attend this revolutionary tale of America's fiery past told through the sounds of the ever-changing nation we've become."

Hamilton is directed by Thomas Kail, with music direction and orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire, choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler, scenic design by David Korins, costume design by Paul Tazewell, lighting design by Howell Binkley, and sound design by Nevin Steinberg.

Hamilton is produced on Broadway by The Public Theater, Jeffrey Seller, Sander Jacobs and Jill Furman.
