Broadway's Significant Other posts early closure notice

The Broadway transfer of Joshua Harmon's comic-drama Significant Other, directed by Trip Cullman, has announced an early closure notice for April 23, 2017. Previews began at Broadway's Booth Theatre on February 14, 2017, before an official opening on March 2. Upon closing, the Broadway production will have played a total of 79 performances.

Synopsis: "Meet Jordan Berman. He's single. And he has a date with a co-worker to see a documentary about the Franco-Prussian war. At least, he thinks it's a date. Significant Other follows Jordan and his three closest friends as they navigate love, friendship and New York in the twenty-something years."

The cast of Significant Other includes Gideon Glick (Jordan), Oscar and Tony nominee Barbara Barrie (Helene), John Behlmann (Will/Conrad/Tony), Sas Goldberg (Kiki), Rebecca Naomi Jones (Vanessa), Lindsay Mendez (Laura) and Luke Smith (Gideon/Evan/Roger).

The Broadway transfer marks the Broadway debuts of both writer Joshua Harmon and director Trip Cullman. The creative team features choreography by Sam Pinkleton, set design by Mark Wendland, costume design by Kaye Voyce, lighting design by Japhy Weideman, and sound design by Daniel Kluger.

The world premiere engagement of Significant Other played off-Broadway's Laura Pels Theatre from May 21 to August 16, 2015. This marks only the second time a new play by Roundabout has transferred to the Great White Way. The first time was by Stephen Karem's Tony-winning Best Play The Humans.
