'Beetlejuice' original cast members join Tony nominee Alex Brightman for the show’s return

The musical resumes Broadway performances on April 8.

It's showtime! The full cast has been announced for the return engagement of Beetlejuice on Broadway, which begins performances April 8 at the Marquis Theatre. The musical previously opened at the Winter Garden Theatre in spring 2019, but closed after just under a year amid the pandemic.

Multiple cast members from the original run of Beetlejuice return to their roles, including the previously announced Alex Brightman, who received a Tony Award nomination for his performance in the title role. Other returning cast members include Tony Award nominee Kerry Butler as Barbara Maitland, David Josefsberg as Adam Maitland, Obie Award Winner Adam Dannheisser as Charles Deetz, Leslie Rodriguez Kritzer as Delia Deetz, Kelvin Moon Loh as Otho, Danny Rutigliano as Maxie Dean, and Dana Steingold as Girl Scout.

New to the Beetlejuice principal cast are Elizabeth Teeter as Lydia Deetz, Michelle Aravena as Miss Argentina, and Zonya Love as Maxine Dean and Juno.

The ensemble includes Kate Bailey, Will Blum, Ryan Breslin, Natalie Charle Ellis, Brooke Engen, Eric Anthony Johnson, Andrew Kober, Elliott Mattox, Mateo Melendez, Ramone Owens, Commodore C. Primous III, Nevada Riley, and Graham Stevens.

The Beetlejuice musical, an adaptation of the hit Tim Burton film, follows the titular "ghost with the most" who has a plan to come back to life. He enlists the help of a young, strange teenager, Lydia, to make it happen and cause some havoc along the way. He also gives the Maitlands, a buttoned-up couple that just died in the house Lydia now lives in, a lesson in how to be dead and haunting. The musical received eight Tony nominations in 2019, including Best Musical.
