Bebe Neuwirth & Brandon Victor Dixon will announce the 2019 Tony Awards nominations
The nominations for The 73rd Annual Tony Awards will be announced on Tuesday, April 30, 2019.
Two-time Tony Award winner Bebe Neuwirth and two-time Tony Award nominee Brandon Victor Dixon will officially host The 73rd Annual Tony Awards Nominations Announcement on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at 8:30am (ET) from the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center. The announcement will be broadcast live on "CBS This Morning".
All Broadway productions in the 2018-2019 season, who have officially opened on or before the eligibility cut-off date of Thursday, April 25, 2019 (and meet all other requirements) can be considered for nominations.
Bebe Neuwirth is a Broadway veteran with 8 productions to her current résumé, including Tony Award-winning performances as Nickie in Sweet Charity (1986) and, of course, as Velma Kelly in Chicago (1997). Her other Broadway shows include The Addams Family, Fosse, Damn Yankees, Little Me, Dancin' and A Chorus Line. On screen, she is perhaps best known for her TV role as Dr. Lilith Sternin on "Cheers" and "Frasier".
Brandon Victor Dixon earned Tony nominations for his performances as Eubie Blake in Shuffle Along (2016) and as Harpo in The Color Purple (2006). His other Broadway credits include the roles of Berry Gordy in Motown The Musical and Aaron Burr in Hamilton, and he also earned an Emmy Award nomination in 2018 for his performance as Judas Iscariot in "Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert" and, most recently, starred as Tom Collins in "Rent Live!".
As previously reported, Tony and 7-time Emmy Award winner James Corden will be returning to Radio City Music Hall on Sunday, June 9, 2019 to once again host the Tony Awards ceremony itself, having previously earned great praise for his hosting duties in 2016.
