James Corden announced as Host of the 2019 Tony Awards

The 73rd Annual Tony Awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at Radio City Music Hall.

Tony and 7-time Emmy Award winner James Corden will be returning to Radio City Music Hall on Sunday, June 9, 2019 to once again host the Tony Awards - the biggest night of New York's theatrical calendar! The "Late Late Show" and "Carpool Karaoke" star last hosted the ceremony in 2016 and was widely praised for his appearance.

Corden issued the following statement: "I'm thrilled to be returning to host the Tony Awards! The Broadway community is very dear to my heart and I'm beyond proud to be part of this incredibly special night."

Corden famously won a Tony Award in 2012 for his performance as Francis Henshall in the Broadway premiere of One Man, Two Guvnors. He made his Broadway debut in The History Boys in 2006 and he is set to appear as Bustopher Jones in the upcoming movie adaptation of Cats later this year. His notable screen credits also include the role of The Baker in the 2014 film adaptation of Into the Woods.

Since his 2016 Tony hosting duties, Corden also hosted The Grammy Awards in 2017 and 2018.  

Nominations for the The 73rd Annual Tony Awards will be announced on April 30, 2019. and the ceremony is set to air live on June 9 at 8:00pm ET on CBS.
