Atlantic's Our New Girl announces full casting

Atlantic Theater Company have announced full casting for the final production of its 2013-2014 season - the US premiere of Irish writer Nancy Harris' play Our New Girl, directed by Gaye Taylor Upchurch, which will open at Atlantic Stage 2 on 10 Jun 2014, following previews from 28 May 2014, and play a limited engagement through to 29 Jun 2014.

Joining previously announced Mary McCann will be Lisa Joyce, Henry Kelemen and CJ Wilson.

Our New Girl arrives Off-Broadway following a production at London's Bush Theatre.

Synopsis: 'Behind the shiny door of Hazel Robinson's (McCann) perfect London home, nothing is as it seems. Hazel's plastic surgeon husband Richard has embarked on his latest charitable quest in Haiti, leaving the heavily-pregnant Hazel with a failing business and a problem son. When a professional nanny arrives unannounced on the Robinsons' doorstep, Hazel finds her home under the shadow of a perfect stranger with an agenda of her own.'

Bios:

Mary McCann (Hazel) is a founding Atlantic Theater Company member and most recently appeared in the production of Conor McPherson's 'The Weir' Off Broadway and starred in the title role in last season's production of Simon Stephens plays 'Harper Regan,' directed by Gaye Taylor Upchurch and in the US premiere of Stephens' play 'Bluebird' opposite Simon Russell Beale also staged by Upchurch. Her Broadway credits include 'The Old Neighborhood', 'Our Town' and 'Search and Destroy'.

Lisa Joyce (Annie) has recently been seen off-Broadway in Signature Theatre Company's 'The Mound Builders' and appeared on Broadway and London's West End in 'La Bete'. She is perhaps best known for her recurring TV roles on 'The Following' and HBO's 'Boardwalk Empire'.

Henry Kelemen (Daniel) will be making his stage debut at the age of 10. He is perhaps best known for his film roles as Tyler in 'What Maisie Knew' and a young Tommy Popper in 'Mr. Popper's Penguins'.

CJ Wilson (Richard) returns to Atlantic Theater Company, where he appeared in 'The Voysey Inheritance' and Ethan Coen's 'Offices'. His Broadway credits include 'Bronx Bombers', 'The Big Knife', 'Glengarry Glen Ross', 'A Steady Rain', 'Festen', 'Henry IV', 'Long Day's Journey into Night', and 'Gore Vidal's The Best Man'.

Nancy Harris' (Playwright) debut original play 'No Romance' was produced at The Abbey Theatre in Mar, 2011. Other theatre credits include 'The Kreutzer Sonata' (Gate Theatre, London), 'Little Dolls' (Bush Theatre Broken Space Season) and 'Love in a Glass Jar' (Abbey Theatre 20 Love Season).

Gaye Taylor Upchurch (Director) returns to Atlantic to collaborate with Mary McCann again after directing last season's production of Simon Stephens' play 'Harper Reagan' in addition to Stephens' play 'Bluebird' in 2011. She is currently directing Lucy Thurber's 'Stay' Off-Broadway at The Rattlestick Theater. She directed Naomi Iizuka's 'Language of Angels' for Lincoln Center Institute and Patrick Huguenin's 'Paper Dolls' for the New York Fringe Festival, which received an Outstanding Ensemble Award. She also worked with Sam Mendes for three years on the trans-Atlantic Bridge Project, including the most recent production of 'Richard III' starring Kevin Spacey.

Our New Girl features scenic design by Timothy R. Mackabee, costume design by Sarah J. Holden, lighting design by David Weiner, and sound design by Stowe Nelson.
