Atlantic Theater Company announces the cast of Hangmen
The complete cast is set for the U.S. premiere of Martin McDonagh's Olivier Award-winning play
Atlantic Theater Company has announced the complete cast for its forthcoming U.S. premiere of the Royal Court Theatre production of Hangmen, the 2016 Olivier Award-winning "Best Play", written by Academy Award winner Martin McDonagh and directed by Olivier Award nominee Matthew Dunster. Previews will begin off-Broadway at the Linda Gross Theater on January 18, 2018, before an official opening on February 5 and a limited engagement through to March 4, 2018.
"Game of Thrones" and "The Full Monty" star Mark Addy leads the cast as Harry, alongside original London cast members Johnny Flynn (as Mooney), Sally Rogers (as Alice), and "The League of Gentlemen" star Reece Shearsmith (pictured, as Syd). Joining them are Owen Campbell (as Clegg), Billy Carter (as Charlie), Maxwell Caulfield (as Pierrepoint), Gaby French (as Shirley), Gilles Geary (as Hennessy), Richard Hollis (as Bill), John Horton (as Arthur), and David Lansbury (as Fry).
Synopsis: "In his small pub in the northern English town of Oldham, Harry is something of a local celebrity. But what's the second-best hangman in England to do on the day they've abolished hanging? Amongst the cub reporters and pub regulars dying to hear Harry's reaction to the news, his old assistant Syd and the peculiar Mooney lurk with very different motives for their visit."
The creative team behind Hangmen features scenic and costume design by Anna Fleischle, lighting design by Joshua Carr, sound design by Ian Dickinson for Autograph, dialect coaching by Stephen Gabis, and fight choreography by J. David Brimmer.
