Atlantic announces complete cast of The Band's Visit

The Atlantic Theater Company has announced complete casting of its upcoming world premiere of new musical The Band's Visit, featuring music & lyrics by David Yazbek and a book by Itamar Moses (based on the screenplay by Eran Kolirin), which will begin previews at off-Broadway's Linda Gross Theater on 11 November 2016, before an official opening on 8 December and a limited engagement through to 18 December 2016.

Directed by Hal Prince, the cast includes (in alphabetical order) George Abud (Camal), Bill Army (Zelger), John Cariani (Itzik), Katrina Lenk (Dina), Erik Liberman (Telephone Guy), Andrew Polk (Avrum), Rachel Prather (Julia), Jonathan Raviv (Sammy), Sharone Sayegh (Anna), Tony Shalhoub (Tewfiq), Kristen Sieh (Iris), and Alok Tewari (Simon).

Synopsis: "An Egyptian Police Band arrives in Israel to play a concert. After a mix up at the border, they are sent to a remote village in the middle of the desert. With no bus until morning and no hotel in sight, these unlikely travelers are taken in by the locals. Under the spell of the desert sky, their lives become intertwined in the most unexpected ways."

The creative team behind The Band's Visit has also been announced and features music direction by Andrea Grody, scenic design by Scott Pask, costume design by Sarah Laux, lighting design by Tyler Micoleau, and sound design by Clive Goodwin.
