Almost an Evening: Kate Blumberg And Peter Maloney

Kate Blumberg and Peter Maloney join the cast of the Atlantic Theater Companys critically acclaimed world premiere production of Academy Award - winning film maker Ethan Coens Almost an Evening on 13 May 2008.

Atlantic Theater Company member Kate Blumberg returns to the Off-Broadway stage assuming the roles played by fellow company member Mary McCann - who played her final performance on 11 May 2008 in advance of appearing in Atlantics upcoming production of Annie Bakers Body Awareness.

Blumberg most recently appeared at Atlantic in Jez Butterworths 'Parlour Song,' Tina Howes 'Birth and After Birth' and Harold Pinters 'Celebration and The Room.' She was also featured in both of Woody Allens world premiere plays at Atlantic, 'Writers Block' and 'A Second Hand Memory.'

Maloney will assume the roles played by F. Murray Abraham, who also played his final performance on 11 May 2008.

Maloney starred in Peter Parnells 'Trumpery' earlier this season at Atlantic, where he has appeared in eleven productions, including David Mamets adaptation of 'The Voysey Inheritance,' Harold Pinters 'Celebration and The Room' and Anton Chekhovs 'The Cherry Orchard.'

In Ethan Coens Almost an Evening, three short plays unsuccessfully tackle important questions. In Waiting, someone waits somewhere for quite some time. In Four Benches, a voyage to self-discovery takes a British intelligence agent to steam baths in New York and Texas, and to park benches in the U.S. and U.K. In Debate, cosmic questions are taken up. Not much is learned.

Almost an Evening opened for a commercial run at the Bleecker Street Theatre on 20 Mar 2008, foe a limited enagement running through to 1 Jun 2008.

Almost an Evening sold out before previews began when the comedy opened at Atlantic Stage 2 for a limited engagement that ran from 9 Jan through to 10 Feb 2008
