All That Fall: Eileen Atkins & Michael Gambon

Following its critically acclaimed, sell-out run in London's West End, Samuel Beckett's radio play All That Fall, directed by Tony and Olivier Award winner Trevor Nunn, and starring BAFTA and Emmy Award winner Eileen Atkins and four-time BAFTA Award winner Michael Gambon, will play at 59E59's Theatre A from 05 Nov - 08 Dec 2013.

First broadcast on the BBC in 1957, All That Fall is set in rural Ireland and charts the journey of old and unwieldy Mrs Rooney (Eileen Atkins) as she drags herself towards a railway station on a Saturday lunchtime to meet her blind husband (Michael Gambon) on his way back from the office to guide him home.

Atkins and Gambon lead a cast of nine, which also includes Ruairi Conaghan, Catherine Cusack and Frank Grimes from the original London production, with further casting to be announced.

The creative team include set design by Cherry Truluck and sound design by Paul Groothuis.

The Off-Broadway production is produced by Richard Darbourne Limited, Jermyn Street Theatre in association with Gene David Kirk.

All That Fall played at the Jermyn Street Theatre, a small 70 seat Off West End venue in Piccadilly, central London, from 09 Oct to 03 Nov 2012, and then transferred to the larger West End Art's Theatre (350 seat) for 23 performances from 6 to 24 Nov 2012.

Bios:

Eileen Atkins won a Bafta and Emmy Award for her role as "Miss Deborah Jenkyns" in the BBC series "Cranford." Other TV work includes "Doc Martin," "Psychoville," and "Upstairs Downstairs." On Broadway she was nominated for Tony Awards for 'The Retreat From Moscow,' 'Indiscretions,' 'Vivat! Vivat Regina' and 'The Killing of Sister George.' For her work on the London stage she has won Olivier Award's for 'Cymbeline,' 'An Unexpected Man' and 'Honour'.'

Michael Gambon recently shot to fame for his portrayal of 'Professor Albus Dumbledore' in the final six Harry Potter movies. He has won Bafta Awards for "Perfect Strangers," "Longitude," "Wives and Daughters" and "The Singing Detective," abd been nominated for Emmy Awards for "Emma" and "Path to War." His many theatre awards include ten Olivier nominations and three wins: 'Man of the Moment,' 'A View from the Bridge' and 'A Chorus of Disapproval.' He was nominated for a Tony Award for his Broadway debut as 'Tom Sergeant' in 'Skylight.'

Trevor Nunn is one of Britian's most emminent stage directors, having served as artistic director for The National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company. His many theatre awards include three Olivier Awards: 'The Merchant of Venice,' 'The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby' and three Tony Awards: 'Les Misérables,' 'Cats' and ' The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby.'
