Ain't No Mo' extends limited run at Public Theater
The world premiere of Ain't No Mo' is set to begin performances off-Broadway at the Public Theater on March 12, 2019.
The Public Theater has announced a 1-week extension for its forthcoming world premiere of Ain't No Mo' ahead of the production's first preview. Written by Jordan E. Cooper and directed by Stevie Walker-Webb, previews are scheduled to begin at the Public's LuEsther Hall on March 12, ahead of an official opening on March 27 and a limited engagement that will now run through to April 28, 2019 (instead of April 21).
Synopsis: "Ain't No Mo' is a vibrant satirical odyssey portraying the great exodus of black Americans out of a country plagued with injustice. In a kaleidoscope of scenes of the moments before, during, and after this outrageous departure, this extraordinary new work explores the value of black lives in a country hurtling away from the promise of a black president."
As previously announced, playwright Jordan E. Cooper will star in his own play, taking on the role of Peaches, alongside Marchánt Davis (as Passenger 2), Fedna Jacquet (as Passenger 1), Crystal Lucas-Perry (as Passenger 5), Ebony Marshall-Oliver (as Passenger 4), and Simone Recasner (as Passenger 3). Please note: Hermon Whaley Jr. will cover the role of Peaches at all Sunday matinee performances.
The creative team behind Ain't No Mo' features scenic design by Kimie Nishikawa, costume design by Montana Levi Blanco, lighting design by Adam Honoré, sound design by Emily Auciello, and hair, wig & make-up design by Cookie Jordan.
Ain't No Mo' Tickets are available now for performances from March 12 through to April 28, 2019.
