50 Shades! The Musical to play at the Elektra Theatre


50 Shades! The Musical, a parody of E.L. James' kinky novel '50 Shades of Grey,' is to premiere at Off-Broadway's Elektra Theatre in early 2014.

The musical, to be directed by Al Samuels, had originally been expected to begin its Off-Broadway premiere at the Elektra in Nov 2013, but this has been postponed due to technical difficulties at the venue.

The start date and cast for the musical will be announced shortly.

50 Shades! The Musical opens with a female book club agreeing to read E.L. James' kinky novel '50 Shades of Grey.' As they meet to discuss the book the audience learn about the intensely erotic relationship between Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele the central characters of the novel, whose storyof sex, humor, and bondage is brought to life though parody and original songs.

With a book by Al Samuels, Amanda Blake Davis, Emily Dorezas, Jody Shelton, Ashley Ward, and Dan Wessels, and music and lyrics by Al Samuels, Amanda Blake Davis, Jody Shelton, Ashley Ward and Dan Wessels, 50 Shades! The Musical has set and costume Design by John Dunnett, lighting design by Herrick Goldman, and sound design by Matt Kraus.

This is the second show to adapt .L. James' novel '50 Shades of Grey' for the show. the musical parody 'Cuff Me: The unauthorised Shades of Grey Musical Parody,' conceived by Tim Flahertym currently plays at Off-Broadway's The Actors Temple.

Since author E.L. James book was published, more than 70 million copies have been sold worldwide. Universal Studios will release a film adaptation on 01 ug 2014.
