
Ruben Santiago-Hudson stars in This World of Tomorrow off Broadway at The Shed from October 30 to December 21, 25, and as Bynum Walker in Joe Turner's Come and Gone on Broadway at the Barrymore Theatre from March 30 to July 12, 2026.
Santiago-Hudson is a Tony Award-winning actor, director, and writer. He earned a Tony nomination and Drama Desk Award for writing, directing, and starring in his autobiographical play Lackawanna Blues on Broadway in 2021; it had previously received an Off-Broadway production and a film adaptation.
Additional Broadway acting credits include Seven Guitars (Tony Award), Jelly's Last Jam, Gem of the Ocean, and Stick Fly. Broadway directing credits include Jitney (Tony nomination, Drama Desk win) and Skeleton Crew starring Phylicia Rashad. In fall 2025, he directed John Leguizamo's The Other Americans off Broadway at The Public Theater.
As a writer, Santiago-Hudson adapted August Wilson's play Ma Rainey's Black Bottom for Netflix, directed by George C. Wolfe and starring Viola Davis and Chadwick Boseman.
